Manage users

This page explains how to invite new users to Storyteq CMP, edit their roles, and deactivate, reactivate, or delete them.

To manage users, navigate to the User Management page by selecting ⚙️ Administration from the bottom-left navigation, then selecting Users. From here you can search for users by name or email address, or filter the list by Role.

You must have the Administration > Admin role to manage users.

Invite a new user

To invite a new user, from the User Management page:

  1. Select Invite Users.

  2. Enter the following mandatory fields:

    • Email

    • First name

    • Last name

  3. Select a role preset from the User Permissions dropdown.

    Each preset assigns a default role to each domain. The table below shows the default role assigned per domain for each preset. For a full breakdown of what each role permits within each domain, see Domain permissions.

    Users with the Custom preset require both the Administration > Admin role and a Portals role to manage users, groups, portals, and assets.
    Assigning any Templates role also grants access to Adaptation Studio via the app switcher.
  4. To adjust an individual domain role, open the dropdown for that domain and select a different option.

  5. Select Save and Invite.

Once invited, the user receives an email notification inviting them to sign in.

Edit a user’s roles

To edit a user’s roles, from the User Management page:

  1. From the Active Users tab, browse or search for a user, and then select ✏️ edit from Actions.

  2. Select a new Roles preset, or adjust the domain roles as needed.

  3. Select Apply Changes.

Deactivate or delete a user

A user must be deactivated before they can be deleted.

To deactivate a user, from the User Management page:

  1. From the Active Users tab, browse or search for a user.

  2. For the user, select the ⋮ Actions menu, and then select Deactivate User.

  3. From the confirmation dialog, select Deactivate. The user moves to the Deactivated Users tab and can no longer access Storyteq CMP.

Alternatively, you can deactivate a user by deselecting the Active user checkbox from the edit user tab.

Deleting a user is permanent and cannot be undone.

To delete a user, from the User Management page:

  1. Select the Deactivated Users tab.

  2. Browse or search for a deactivated user.

  3. Select Delete User, then from the confirmation dialogue, select Delete.

Reactivate a user

To reactivate a deactivated user, from the User Management page:

  1. Select the Deactivated Users tab.

  2. Browse or search for a deactivated user.

  3. Select Activate User. The user moves to the Active Users tab, and can access Storyteq CMP again.

Alternatively, you can reactivate a user by selecting the Active user checkbox from the edit user tab.

Domain permissions

The following tables specify the permissions granted by each role within each domain. Roles are assigned per domain when inviting a user or editing an existing user’s roles.

The Restricted role grants access to view adaptations and templates linked in reviews only.
The Creator Limited role grants the same permissions as Creator, but only for the user’s own templates, uploaded source assets, and rendered assets.

To upload completed adaptations to integrated channels, a user requires at least one Templates role (Creator, Builder, or Admin) and at least one Integrations role (User or Manager).
